Spoiler alert: there is a little treat for you in this post! Read on, it’s worth it!
Have you ever wished for a delivery service which brings a surprise box full of the newest healthy foods to your house every month?
Furthermore, this delivery service would promise you to include only foods which fulfill at least 3 of those criteria:
We see, hear and read about them everywhere, get them as a topping to our meals, smoothies, or even in our coffee:
Forget Popeye or the Power Rangers: our new superheroes are Matcha, Maca, Moringa, Wheat grass, Acai, Hemp, Cacao, Chia, Green Protein, Magic Berries, and Barley grass.
You can argue about this “hype” or think about it whatever you like. Fact is, that all of those “super foods” are completely natural, originally found either in form of seeds, leaves, or grasses, and can do just a little more than other plant based foods.
But what exactly?
One of my colleagues is vegan and she just felt like baking the other day. Lucky us, we got to eat them 🙂
I am actually not a big fan of any baking goods that are made of or taste like chocolate. Thus, I’d choose fruit tarts or pie, or warm apple/cherry turnovers over chocolate pastries at any time, BUT those brownies are absolutely delicious!!
What is your favorite to-go snack or (protein) bar?
It’s going to be a long day? Or perhaps you’re about to travel? I travel quite a bit in my job and leisure time, and I never leave my place without snacks. They have saved me many times from “blood sugar emergencies,” low moods, hunger pains, as well as unhealthy food choices.
There are many protein or snack bars out there, unfortunately many of them are sugar-packs, candy bars, or high fructose syrup monsters in disguise. Of course I am not a nutritionist, but I did find some natural, organic and delicious protein bar favorites that I’d like to share here with you since many of you have asked me before what I usually like to snack on 🙂
Hello dear Yogilators!
It’s becoming fall outside, that means cooler mornings and less sunshine during the day. So, our bodies crave warm comfy food that helps us stay energized even when the sun is missing.
One of my old time favorites is my beloved OATMEAL or in some countries better known as “porridge” 🙂 I eat it every morning during the week because it’s quick, easy, delicious, and keeps me satisfied and warmed-up inside.
Sure, it might not look the most delicious to some people, but it IS nutritious, delicious and healthy due to its various health benefits like:
Afternoon slump? Long day ahead? Looking for a coffee alternative?
One of my favorite coffee alternatives where I don’t even have to skip the milk foam! HEAVENLY, easy, healthy, and quick. Have you ever tried Matcha? You can add the powder to your smoothie, oatmeal, or yogurt to mix it up a little. Matcha is full of health benefits ranging from cancer fighting to energy boosting benefits, as well as memory, concentration and endurance increase.

And now it’s time to try this super delicious Matcha Green Cappuccino:
This year was finally the year: I went on my very first yoga retreat! …
It’s been on top of my list of the things I’ve always wanted to do, and I’ve been looking for a yoga retreat, that suits my budget, for a looong time. So at the beginning of this year, I just hit the “book it now” button as part of my “Don’t do List” 2015 New Year’s resolutions. It was time to indulge and to be good to myself.
And now the day was here: I packed my yoga mat, clothes, and a big dose of excitement for my little 3-day Yoga Retreat adventure at a cool Beach Motel in beautiful St. Peter-Ording in Germany’s North Frisia.
Frankly, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I haven’t personally met the two yoga teachers /hosts and had no clue what they were like or what their teaching style was going to be.
The summer is here and the temperatures are accordingly now as well. How is your appetite these days?
Particularly when it’s hot out, our body and metabolism need lots of water and fresh foods rather than anything heavy.
Ice cream or frozen yogurt are surely a great idea, however, they are unfortunately usually packed with sugar and diary based, but not everyone can or want to actually eat diary (and/or too much sugar).
Reflect – Set your goals – Focus – Believe – Accomplish
One of the best time management tools is the creation of daily, weekly, and monthly lists. It helps us reflect, stay motivated, structured, and focused on our goals and future vision. It also gives us a sense of purpose and enables us to recognize (and hopefully CELEBRATE!) even our small achievements as well as our milestones.
Today is the official beginning of summer and we’re all ready and excited for more sun and finally jumping into the water, right?
Well, sun and swimming is all fun, but we need to take care of our skin and body in general from INSIDE-OUT.
While sunscreen is a must, we tend to forget to also protect ourselves from the inside. How? By staying hydrated, by eating our vitamins and by making sure we help our liver to stay on top of the detox.
Sure, you might think that you don’t drink alcohol and you’re eating healthy and perhaps even only organic food. However, we are all exposed to chemicals and germs every day, which we take in by breathing in the air of our environment.
But the GOOD NEWS is that there is an easy, delicious, and natural way to support our liver and to even help our skin looking fresh and wrinkle-free as long as possible!
