Hello my dear Yogilators,
I hope you are all doing well these days when the days get shorter, it gets colder outside and our immune system is working a little harder than usual.
As you know, I am a big believer in the mind-body connection and the healing power of food. However, it’s quite tough to get all essential vitamins and minerals in every day, therefore it became almost a given to take supplements, mostly in form of pills. Frankly, I don’t like taking boxes of pills with me, so I started to search for alternatives almost 3 years ago.
That’s when I stumbled over the so called “superfoods” and integrated them into my daily meals, like my oatmeal in the morning, or smoothies, and even muffins and cookies when I bake.
In my post about our “new superheroes,” I gave you a little overview of all the super great health benefits of Maca, aronia, moringa, hemp, acai, wheatgrass and many more.
And now guess what, I found a very cool company who shares my passion for nutrition and understands the great health benefits of these super foods as well! AND, lucky me, I got to try some of their super mixes for you. 🙂

I decided to switch it up a little and made my beloved 2-ingredients oatmeal cookies today differently. And suffice to say: my guests loved them 🙂
We see, hear and read about them everywhere, get them as a topping to our meals, smoothies, or even in our coffee:
Forget Popeye or the Power Rangers: our new superheroes are Matcha, Maca, Moringa, Wheat grass, Acai, Hemp, Cacao, Chia, Green Protein, Magic Berries, and Barley grass.
You can argue about this “hype” or think about it whatever you like. Fact is, that all of those “super foods” are completely natural, originally found either in form of seeds, leaves, or grasses, and can do just a little more than other plant based foods.
But what exactly?

It’s becoming fall outside, that means cooler mornings and less sunshine during the day. So, our bodies crave warm comfy food that helps us stay energized even when the sun is missing.
One of my old time favorites is my beloved OATMEAL or in some countries better known as “porridge” 🙂 I eat it every morning during the week because it’s quick, easy, delicious, and keeps me satisfied and warmed-up inside.
Sure, it might not look the most delicious to some people, but it IS nutritious, delicious and healthy due to its various health benefits like:
The summer is here and the temperatures are accordingly now as well. How is your appetite these days?
Particularly when it’s hot out, our body and metabolism need lots of water and fresh foods rather than anything heavy.
Ice cream or frozen yogurt are surely a great idea, however, they are unfortunately usually packed with sugar and diary based, but not everyone can or want to actually eat diary (and/or too much sugar).
