Thoughts on … the “Yoga Posing” Generation

I have been following many yoga pages and Instagram accounts of yogi’s the past years since I started practicing yoga almost 10 years ago. One thing that I surely notice was the shift from posting yoga mantras, thoughts, or reflections to posting super (acrobatic) yoga poses at the most advantaged level.

Don’t get me wrong, I think those pictures are beautiful and can be helpful when explaining a pose or capturing an inspirational moment. I also think it’s great when someone is so bendy, balanced and concentrated to be able to hold those positions, however, they blur the actual message of yoga and what it actually means more and more.

Yoga Feels Good – Warum eigentlich?

Mein erster Gastbeitrag für einen anderen Blog ist heute erschienen! / My very 1st guest post for a German healthy food blog came out today! 🙂

Yoga Feels Good‘ heißt es heute auf dem Blog von Julia “Julie Feels Good”: denn ich habe mal etwas kleines über meine Leidenschaft und warum eigentlich Yoga doch für jeden ist, geschrieben.

Yoga vs. Pilates – Which one is for you?

Dear all,

I hope you’re staying yogilated and enjoying the fresh air of spring and new beginnings!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m practicing Yoga AND Pilates on a regular basis, because I appreciate the benefits of both. However, what I enjoy the most are the Pilates Mix workouts, which combine elements from Pilates, yoga, and other stretches that you sometimes find in boot-camp or step-up classes.

Yoga to Speed Up Your Metabolism

Yoga is good for you. Sure, that’s a fact – proven by our own feelings, experiences as well as scientific studies. I’ve wrote about it for example in my “Yoga & Healing” post or “5 Reasons to Do Yoga at Work” article before.

However, have you ever thought about yoga helping you to speed up your metabolism and increasing your metabolic rate? Your metabolism is like your nice and cozy fireplace that converts or “burns” the food you’re eating into energy and something valuable for your body and overall well-being. Do you know those fit and healthy people that eat quite a lot when you go out to eat or see them at a party? And you might think “Wow, how can they eat all that without gaining weight?”

Yoga for opening the heart and letting go

Yoga in Berlin: Chimosa ~ Yoga, Tea, Fitness

Today was the day! I started my 30 day membership with a very cool project called “Urbansportsclub” in Berlin. They offer a fitness flatrate in different sizes. I got size M, which allows me to attend classes in a variety of yoga, Pilates, and other fitness studios, beach volleyball, bootcamp classes, zumba, and much more all over Berlin. This is MY chance to explore the city more and to find some awesome YOGA places and meet people. 🙂

Today, I started with a 90 minute Jivamukti yoga class at CHIMOSA in Berlin Mitte/central Berlin.
