I have been following many yoga pages and Instagram accounts of yogi’s the past years since I started practicing yoga almost 10 years ago. One thing that I surely notice was the shift from posting yoga mantras, thoughts, or reflections to posting super (acrobatic) yoga poses at the most advantaged level.
Don’t get me wrong, I think those pictures are beautiful and can be helpful when explaining a pose or capturing an inspirational moment. I also think it’s great when someone is so bendy, balanced and concentrated to be able to hold those positions, however, they blur the actual message of yoga and what it actually means more and more.
My very 1st guest post for a German healthy food blog came out today!
I hope you’re staying yogilated and enjoying the fresh air of spring and new beginnings!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m practicing Yoga AND Pilates on a regular basis, because I appreciate the benefits of both. However, what I enjoy the most are the Pilates Mix workouts, which combine elements from Pilates, yoga, and other stretches that you sometimes find in boot-camp or step-up classes.
Yoga and emotions? YES. Big time!
As I wrote about yoga and letting go and opening up before, yoga is there for you at any state of mind in this very moment, but especially in times of transition, sadness, loss, or loneliness.. Or as Brigitte Meinders put it in one of her articles:
Yoga is good for you. Sure, that’s a fact – proven by our own feelings, experiences as well as scientific studies. I’ve wrote about it for example in my “Yoga & Healing” post or “5 Reasons to Do Yoga at Work” article before.
However, have you ever thought about yoga helping you to speed up your metabolism and increasing your metabolic rate? Your metabolism is like your nice and cozy fireplace that converts or “burns” the food you’re eating into energy and something valuable for your body and overall well-being. Do you know those fit and healthy people that eat quite a lot when you go out to eat or see them at a party? And you might think “Wow, how can they eat all that without gaining weight?”
Hello my dear Yogilators!
The new year is only 6 days old and many brands, studios, and so called “discounter stores” are already featuring workout tools, clothes, and accessories with special sales these days in Germany.
Hi my dear Yogilators!
I finally got a yoga block!!! Frankly, I wasn’t too convinced about the use of it at the beginning, but the more I tried them during yoga classes in studios, the more I became I fan of it.
