Guest Post: 10 Reasons Why Retreats Are Healing Musts

Dear Yogilators,

After I shared the 1st guest post ever on Yogilation written by my dear blogger friend Julia of JulieFeelsGood a while ago, I’m happy to announce that I’m doing it again!! The blogger team of BookYogaRtereats.com approached me and asked about the opportunity to have a guest post at Yogilation.com about good reasons to consider trying a yoga retreat. Well, you know I truly enjoyed my yoga retreat, so I thought, why not?

Chantal Di Donato, a Certified Holistic Health Coach, yoga teacher, author, nutrition and diet advisor with NLP, and founder of Live Lean Health and Live Lean TV, listed 10 good reasons for us, why retreats are surely a good idea! ENJOY!

“Soost Fitness Meets Hall Yoga” Class at Celebrity Sports School Berlin

Dear Yogilators,

Happy beginning of spring! The sunny and colorful season is about to get started and what is better than using this time to go out more and try new things?

About 2 weeks ago, I decided to finally go to the Celebrity Sports School in Berlin and take the “Soost Fitness meets Hall Yoga” class instructed by Detlef D! Soost and his wife Kate Hall. I’ve “talked” to Kate via Instagram before about taking a class with her, and now I had a day off, so I just went. Life’s too short!

Thoughts on … the “Yoga Posing” Generation

I have been following many yoga pages and Instagram accounts of yogi’s the past years since I started practicing yoga almost 10 years ago. One thing that I surely notice was the shift from posting yoga mantras, thoughts, or reflections to posting super (acrobatic) yoga poses at the most advantaged level.

Don’t get me wrong, I think those pictures are beautiful and can be helpful when explaining a pose or capturing an inspirational moment. I also think it’s great when someone is so bendy, balanced and concentrated to be able to hold those positions, however, they blur the actual message of yoga and what it actually means more and more.

YIN YOGA in the middle of Manhattan / NYC – How to Wake Up a Jet Lagged Body

Hello dear Yogilators,

I’ve been traveling a lot lately, which meant many hours of sitting in airplanes and moving between time zones. You can perhaps imagine that my body wasn’t all too happy about it at times, but THANKS to YOGA <3 , I was able to gently wake up my body and prevent my lower back or hips from aching and hurting.

My first stop was in NYC and my hotel offered some fitness and yoga classes for guests. OF COURSE, I had to try it out and I was lucky enough to be able to attend one class AND that our teacher, Jeni Livingston, decided to do a session of YIN YOGA.

Yoga Feels Good – Warum eigentlich?

Mein erster Gastbeitrag für einen anderen Blog ist heute erschienen! / My very 1st guest post for a German healthy food blog came out today! :)

Yoga Feels Good‘ heißt es heute auf dem Blog von Julia “Julie Feels Good”: denn ich habe mal etwas kleines über meine Leidenschaft und warum eigentlich Yoga doch für jeden ist, geschrieben.

“Happy Mind – Damn Good Life” Yoga Retreat in Sankt Peter-Ording

This year was finally the year: I went on my very first yoga retreat! …

It’s been on top of my list of the things I’ve always wanted to do, and I’ve been looking for a yoga retreat, that suits my budget, for a looong time. So at the beginning of this year, I just hit the “book it now” button as part of my “Don’t do List” 2015 New Year’s resolutions. It was time to indulge and to be good to myself.

And now the day was here: I packed my yoga mat, clothes, and a big dose of excitement for my little 3-day Yoga Retreat adventure at a cool Beach Motel in beautiful St. Peter-Ording in Germany’s North Frisia.

Frankly, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I haven’t personally met the two yoga teachers /hosts and had no clue what they were like or what their teaching style was going to be.

Thoughts on … limiting ourselves with our lack of trust and self-belief

As a small motivation for the beginning of a new day, I’d like to share something I’ve encountered (yet again..) about two weeks ago during my trip to Amsterdam. I took a (GREAT!) Vinyasa evening yoga class with Chantal Soeters at “Delight Yoga

It was the day I’ve arrived in Amsterdam and I was actually tired and didn’t feel like my most fit self. However, I (luckily) still decided to go to the yoga class and at the end didn’t regret it at all.

Yoga vs. Pilates – Which one is for you?

Dear all,

I hope you’re staying yogilated and enjoying the fresh air of spring and new beginnings!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m practicing Yoga AND Pilates on a regular basis, because I appreciate the benefits of both. However, what I enjoy the most are the Pilates Mix workouts, which combine elements from Pilates, yoga, and other stretches that you sometimes find in boot-camp or step-up classes.
