Belly – Abdominal Muscles 101

The abs are probably one of the body parts that most people are not satisfied with. Interestingly, a bigger belly doesn’t necessarily mean it is all fat. Oftentimes, there are other reasons behind this:

  • poor body posture
  • too little movement –> sedentary lifestyle
  • fast on-the-go eating
  • chewing gum
  • drinking soda
  • mindless eating due to distraction
  • wrong breathing techniques
  • eating processed foods and other foods that cause inflammation
  • lack of fiber
  • food allergies etc.

To get flat abs, exercise is necessary too. I found Pilates to be the most effective way to build a strong core. I will post more about Pilates soon. Here is a great Pilates sequence that will help you tone your abdominal muscles: >>> 5 Minute Pilates Workout
